Why Choose Combs with Covers?

Experience the joy of working with high-quality tools that bring out the best in your fiber. This complete set offers unmatched performance and reliability, with the added peace of mind that your combs are protected when not in use. Whether you're a seasoned fiber artist or a beginner, these combs with covers make your spinning journey more enjoyable and rewarding.

About the Protective Covers:

These comb covers protect your combs' tines from being damaged, damaging you, and help ensure accidents don't happen when left unattended, when traveling, and especially from curious children. Each cover features a precision recess that perfectly matches the combs' tines configuration. They effortlessly slide over the tines with no play between the wood and tines, fully covering the first inch of those tines and providing great support while ensuring confidence that they're fully protecting the tines—and more importantly, you and others.

Using various colors/patterns of 275 paracord, I first tied an alpine knot which will not slip or become unadjusted. I then put the ends through precision holes, wrapped the ends around the handle, and tied what is known as a lanyard or diamond knot around those ends, allowing it to essentially be a cinch. That knot will slide up tightening towards the top and will not adjust until you adjust them for removal. The sliding knot not only looks pretty 🤩, it's functional and helps keep a clean look while giving you the confidence that you and others are ultimately protected from those tines when not in use.

Easy to Use:

Simply slip the nonadjustable loop around the handle. Gently find one end of the tines and carefully slide over (after use, some careful "fudging" may be necessary). BE CAREFUL. Slide all the way down. Bring the adjustable side over to the end of the handle and slide knot until taut. The sliding knot can be tightened if necessary by simply pulling on the opposite ends.

Note: The color of paracord sent will be randomized.

Combing fiber can be relaxing and is a great hands-on experience. As you watch your progress pile up, you are ridding your fleece of vegetable matter and getting your fiber ready for carding or spinning. These would not be suitable to comb a living sheep 🐑. Baaa!
