Why Choose Curly Maple Combs?

These are the same high-quality combs I make from Maple, only crafted from highly figured and very eye-catching Curly Maple. The premium wood costs $125 per board foot, which is why each pair is $25 more than standard combs—but the stunning beauty and uniqueness make them worth every penny. Combing fiber can be relaxing and is a great hands-on experience, and doing it with these beautiful tools makes it even more special.

The wood is hand rubbed with an eco-friendly Danish oil using a dip and drip technique that allows the oil to penetrate deeper than standard application, sanded and then repeated until smooth. The heads of the combs are linearly matched for consistent performance. These would not be suitable to comb a living sheep 🐑. Baaa!
