Wool Combs - Curly Maple
Ā Ā Ā These Wool Hand Combs are handmade with great care, attention to detail, and from good quality domestically materials. From Curly Maple and Maple. The head is Curly Maple, and the handles are turned from Maple. They are very light weight at 6-7 ounces per comb. Built tough with precision and durability in mind. Every detail wonāt mind your Attention because attention to detail is my factory default. And to that I pay dearly.
Ā Ā Ā I have about 10 of these Curly Maple Combs I can Build and when they are gone, they are gone. I will keep putting between one and two in stock until they are gone. If you want a truly artistically inspired and completely beautiful Fiber Tool, these should be in your toolbox. These are the same combs I make from Maple or Cherry, only these are made from highly figured and very eye-catching Curly Maple. Each pair in any combination is $25 more due to the high cost of this material at $125 per board foot.

Ā Ā Ā They will fit ergonomically in your hands. The wood is hand rubbed with an eco-friendly Danish oil, sanded and then repeated until smooth. They are a set, and the heads of the combs are linearly matched. I actually do a dip and drip technique that allows the oil to penetrate deeper than it would have I just hand rubber it once. These would not be suitable to comb a living sheep š. Baaa!
Ā Ā Ā As with anything made from Curly Maple, there will be a varying degree of the effect that is "curly", between each piece.
