Handmade Vintage Fabric Stuffed Bear - Unique Heirloom Collectible

GENERAL PRODUCT SAFETY REGULATION (GPSR) INFORMATION

Intended Use:
Hand-sewn decorative stuffed bear intended for adult decorative display and collectible use.

Each bear is individually handmade by Arlene Riley using a combination of vintage or antique fabrics, vintage lace, decorative trim, polyester filling, and decorative accessories.

Approximate Finished Size:
• Sitting height: approximately 13.5"
• Body width: approximately 8"
• Maximum arm width: approximately 5"
• Arm length: approximately 5.5"
• Leg length: approximately 6"

Because each bear is handmade from vintage and antique materials, fabric, lace, trim, color, texture, pattern, decorative details, and overall appearance will vary from piece to piece.

Each bear is unique.


IMPORTANT — DECORATIVE COLLECTIBLE, NOT A TOY

This product is intended for adult decorative and collectible use.

It is not designed, tested, or intended as a children's toy.

• Do not give to infants or young children for play

• Do not place in a crib, bassinet, playpen, or children's sleeping area

• Do not use as an infant comfort object or sleep aid

• Keep out of reach of young children and pets

• Decorative components may present choking, snagging, or entanglement hazards if detached


CAUTION — SMALL DECORATIVE COMPONENTS

Depending on the individual bear, decorative details may include:

• Buttons

• Brooches

• Bows

• Lace

• Trim

• Other attached embellishments

These decorative parts are not intended to be pulled, twisted, chewed, or removed.

Small components may become a choking hazard if they detach.

Before display, periodically inspect decorative attachments and discontinue normal handling if any component becomes loose.


VINTAGE & ANTIQUE MATERIALS

These bears may incorporate vintage or antique textiles, lace, trim, or decorative components.

Older materials may naturally show:

• Variations in color

• Fading

• Surface wear

• Differences in texture

• Minor irregularities

• Signs of age consistent with the material

These characteristics are part of the handmade and vintage nature of the product.

Vintage materials may be more delicate than newly manufactured textiles.

Handle the bear gently and avoid pulling on fabric, lace, seams, or decorative trim.


BEFORE DISPLAY OR HANDLING

Inspect the bear periodically.

Discontinue normal handling or display if:

• A seam opens significantly

• Polyester filling becomes exposed

• A button, brooch, bow, or other decorative component becomes loose

• Vintage fabric or lace begins to tear significantly

• A sharp component, broken fastener, or damaged decorative part becomes exposed

• Any condition develops that could create a snagging, choking, puncture, or other safety hazard


POLYESTER FILLING

The interior filling is polyester fiberfill.

Do not intentionally open the bear or remove the filling.

If a seam opens and filling becomes accessible:

• Stop normal handling

• Keep loose filling away from children and pets

• Repair the seam before returning the bear to display

Do not allow loose filling to be swallowed or inhaled.


DECORATIVE BUTTONS, BROOCHES & ACCESSORIES

Some bears may include a decorative button or brooch as part of the bow or other embellishment.

These components are decorative only.

• Do not pull or twist attached accessories

• Do not use the brooch, button, or bow as a carrying point

• Inspect attachments periodically

• Keep detached or loose small components away from children and pets

If a brooch or other accessory includes a pin or pointed fastening component, avoid direct contact with the fastening point and discontinue normal handling if it becomes exposed or unsecured.


SAFE HANDLING

When moving or displaying the bear:

• Support the body of the bear

• Do not carry the bear by an arm, leg, ear, bow, lace trim, button, brooch, or other decorative component

• Avoid pulling or stretching vintage fabric

• Keep away from sharp objects

• Do not place heavy objects on the bear

• Do not sit or stand on the bear

• Avoid rough handling


DISPLAY

Display the bear in a clean, dry indoor environment.

Suitable locations may include:

• Shelves

• Display cabinets

• Adult collectible displays

• Decorative furniture

Avoid display locations where the bear may:

• Fall from height

• Be repeatedly handled by young children

• Be reached or chewed by pets

• Contact open flames or high heat

• Become wet

• Be crushed or snagged by moving furniture or doors


FIRE & HEAT SAFETY

Textiles, lace, polyester filling, and decorative materials may burn if exposed to flame or sufficient heat.

Keep the bear away from:

• Candles

• Fireplaces

• Stoves

• Space heaters

• Open flames

• Hot surfaces

• Other significant heat sources

Do not place the bear directly against heating equipment.


CLEANING & CARE

Because these bears may contain vintage or antique materials and attached embellishments:

• Do not machine wash

• Do not tumble dry

• Do not soak or submerge in water

• Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners

• Do not aggressively scrub vintage fabric or lace

For routine care:

• Remove surface dust gently

• Use a soft, dry cloth or soft brush where appropriate

• Spot clean only when necessary and only when the specific materials can tolerate it

• Test any cleaning method on an inconspicuous area first

Avoid saturating the fabric or filling.

If the bear becomes significantly wet, allow it to dry thoroughly in a well-ventilated indoor location before returning it to storage or display.


STORAGE

When not on display, store the bear:

• In a clean, dry indoor location

• Away from excessive humidity

• Away from direct contact with moisture

• Away from open flames and heat sources

• Away from sharp objects

• Protected from crushing

• Away from young children and pets

Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the bear.

Long-term exposure to strong direct sunlight may contribute to fading of vintage textiles.


DISCONTINUE DISPLAY OR HANDLING

Stop displaying or handling the bear normally if:

• Fabric tears significantly

• Seams open

• Polyester filling becomes exposed

• A button, brooch, bow, lace section, or other decorative component becomes loose

• A sharp or pointed component becomes exposed

• Significant deterioration develops in vintage materials

• Any damage creates a choking, puncture, snagging, entanglement, or other foreseeable hazard

Repair or safely retire the piece before returning it to normal decorative use.
