Standard Hackle
Handmade standard hackles—versatile fiber processing tools designed for general fiber prep, blending, and combing all fiber types. Each hackle features precision-spaced tines (.25" on center and .25" between rows) set in lightweight maple handles, providing the ideal balance of strength and control for everyday fiber work.
Available in four widths (3.5", 6", 12", and 18") with single, double, or triple row configurations. Standard hackles excel at processing coarser fibers, blending colors, aligning locks, and removing vegetable matter and neps. The wider tine spacing makes these powerful tools perfect for working with medium to coarse wools, alpaca, mohair, and other animal fibers.
Whether you're preparing fleece for spinning, blending fiber batts, or creating custom colorways, standard hackles deliver professional performance for all your fiber processing needs. Each hackle is finished with Danish Oil for durability and features tempered stainless steel tines with 45° chamfered edges for smooth, snag-free fiber flow. Made in America since 2013 with eco-conscious practices and traditional woodworking techniques.
