This original cross-stitch design by Riley Wood and Fiber Art features an unlikely trio—a sloth, a giraffe, and a honey badger—each depicted with a sharp, expressive attitude that challenges their usual gentle or familiar portrayals. Instead of leaning on cuteness, the composition emphasizes posture, gaze, and presence, giving each animal a sense of agency and quiet defiance. Together, they form a unified scene that blends humor, tension, and character-driven storytelling.

Strong line work and deliberate contrast give each figure its own visual weight while maintaining cohesion across the trio. The design relies on stance and expression rather than excessive detail, creating a bold, modern interpretation of wildlife attitude. The result is a piece that is visually striking, slightly irreverent, and unmistakably contemporary.

Charted on 14-count Aida, this pattern is ideal for stitchers who enjoy original artwork, expressive animal studies, and statement pieces that push beyond traditional cross-stitch themes. It offers an engaging stitching experience and produces a finished work that is both playful and assertive.
